ProEndo Tecc Vascular Prosthesis
The company’s main business field is the development and production of vascular prostheses with various inner diameters, starting at 2.5mm.
As a first step the newly designed vascular prostheses “ProEndoTecc” with inner diameters of 6 mm, 7 mm and 8 mm will be introduced into the market. Since March 2010, clinical trials have been conducted to receive the CE-certification for these products.
ProEndoTecc prostheses are made from a special type of Polycarbonate Urethane (PCU). A newly developed and patented manufacturing process gives the material biomimetic properties and matrix-like structures, which closely imitate naturally grown artery walls in geometry and elasticity. The prosthesis matrix is so well engineered that it fulfills all functional requirements of natural grown vascular systems and therefore allows epithelial cell seeding from blood cells as well as the integration of connective tissue.
The inner surface of the prosthesis suits the requirements for circulating endothelial progenitor cells (EPC) perfectly. The NonWoTecc luminal surface design allows optimal adhesion, spreading and proliferation of EPCs. This results in the generation of a continuous endothelial layer, which completely covers the inside of the prosthesis, and therefore prevents any interaction between the blood and possible contaminants.
This biomimetic concept prevents blood clotting reactions in the NonWoTecc prosthesis over long periods of time by providing an undisturbed continuous blood flow as well as cell integration.
